April Monthly Wrap Up

My buddy Boone

Spring is here to stay it seems, as for once in the history of my time in Kentucky, mother nature decided to give us more than a day of pleasant spring temperatures! As always, the spring is a busy time of year for me- I start spending more time at the barn, more time in the yard, more time using up that extra daylight!

Since I’m on the go much of my time, many of my reviews come from audiobooks instead of physical or ebooks. It’s just so much easier to motivate myself to keep gardening or spring cleaning with a good story to listen to!

Without further ado, here are the reviews from the month of April:

  1. The No Asshole Rule by Robert Sutton
  2. It’s Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini
  3. The Invited by Jennifer McMahon
  4. Angela’s Ashes by Frank McCourt
  5. When We Left Cuba by Chanel Cleeton
  6. Britt-Marie Was Here by Fredrik Backman
  7. Good Boss, Bad Boss by Robert Sutton
  8. War Dogs by Laurie Frankel
  9. The Bridge Ladies by Betsy Lerner
  10. The Glass Castle by Jeannette Wall
  11. Out East by John Glynn
  12. One Hour Investor by Vishal Reddy

I also wrote a post about Blog Post Planning and Tools, where I shared what apps I utilize for blogging. I had a lot of fun writing that post, and I hope that it continues to help others on their blogging journey!

Next, I want to take a minute to congratulate the April giveaway winner, Jacqueline of @lovebooks1995! She received a copy of My Kind of Crazy (which is on my TBR and one I hope to get to this summer) as well as a bunch of stickers, a few bookmarks, a pencil pouch, and a hideaway-book!

Next, I wanted to say another big thank you to Gunjan of Bookworm Reads for nominating me for the Blogger Recognition Award, and to say a huge congratulations to the nominees!

Finally, I wanted to thank all of you for your patience while I continue to do housekeeping on the site. If you haven’t noticed, there is a new (blood orange!) sub-menu on the main page that allows for easier navigation of reviews, local resources, and a bunch of other good stuff!

One of the biggest things I would like to point out is the section for Local Bookies,¬†which includes those who live in the Lexington, KY vicinity. Ideally, I want this section to be a resource for my fellow Lex bookies who want to attend bookish events, find the next library book sale, and check out a nearby bookshop. I am doing all that I can to keep this section current and in one place, so you don’t have do what I do- which is, bouncing from book site to site, looking for information!

Please check it out and tell me what you like or what you think would make things even better. I am all ears and eager to make this blog a place people WANT to visit.

I hope you all have had a wonderful April, and can’t wait to see what books come down the road for May!
