November Monthly Wrap Up

You know how basically for the last ten months I said something to the effect of “this month flew by”?

Well, all ten of those other months have nothing on November.

As you may know, this month and the very beginning of December are the busiest months for me, personally and professionally. My parents visit the second weekend of November for the family’s annual hunting trip, in which I actually managed to get 4 solid days with them (the most I’ve had in 5 years!) My day job holds two large events, one of which is a four day horse show, and the other of which is a 6 day convention (which is next week.) Between all these events and family gatherings, there’s blogging, housework, gyming, and ya know, sleep to be done. I’m not going to lie- I’m a little exhausted.

The good thing about all this? I’ve had some quality car time, which means I’ve knocked out a lot of audiobooks. I’ve also managed to catch up after the fiasco that was me, trying to go self-hosted. So, without further ado because WE GOT THING TO DO, Y’ALL…

The reviews this month:

  1. The Witches Are Coming by Lindy West
  2. Palm Reading for Beginners by Richard Webster
  3. The City Where We Once Lived by Eric Barnes
  4. The Killer Across the Table by John Douglas
  5. The Testaments by Margaret Atwood
  6. The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen
  7. Stay Sexy & Don’t Get Murdered by Karen Kilgariff & Georgia Hardstark

Besides the reads I mentioned above, I added a two new things to the blog. The first is an Author Spotlight, in which I highlight a favorite author and their books (the debut was of author Tatiana de Rosnay). Eventually this category will have it’s own page for easy access. The second thing added is a shop! I added a small little “shop” tab on the menu, which holds a list of my favorite 2019 releases and bookish/blogger items I would totally buy, and each has an affiliate link. I joined Amazon Affiliates to maybe help offset the cost of the doozies made while trying to self-host, and hopefully someday help offset the cost of running the blog. So if you were looking to buy a certain 2019 release, please buy through my little shop (so I can make a tiny commission at no cost to you!)

*EDIT!* I FORGOT TO MENTION- make sure to check out the latest edition of Crooked Recommendations, Part 3! I just got to do an episode on literacy with the two awesome ladies of Talk Crooked and I am so excited for you all to hear it- check it out (released Dec. 2) here!!

Other than that, this month has been all about work and play, and not much about books. But, because I love to share, I’ll leave you with a few photos from this month, and I’ll see you in December!
